New business cards

In anticipation of my talk at the 2nd International Left Hand Path Conference, I've updated my business cards.  I'm very pleased with how they turned out.

Working on my web presence

I am working on my web site this evening.  I've come to discover that my vargr@quantumsorcery.org email address has apparently stopped working.  I can't access the email control panel on my hosting site, so I had to put in a help desk ticket.  On a more satisfactory note, last night I designed my new business cards.  They are much slicker than my old ones. I will be ordering them this weekend.
And the following will no doubt amaze and startle those who know me. I am also online shopping for a suit.  Not a suit of armor, a suit.  Saturday night at the upcoming 2nd International Left Hand Path Conference is a black tie ball.  To those who might have hesitated to attend the event, think of how small of a price the admission fees are for the shock and awe of seeing yours truly in modern formal attire!  Such a thing has not been seen in nearly 20 years.  Get your tickets now!

On Saturday, July 26th, I will be giving a talk on Quantum Sorcery at the 2nd International Left Hand Path Conference, which is being held at the Marriott East in Indianapolis from the 25th through the 27th.  The event is not exclusively for Left Hand Path practitioners, but it is age restricted to those 18 years of age or older.  I plan to have copies of Quantum Sorcery available for sale and signing. Taylor Ellwood, Andrieh Vitimus, Frater Nicht, and many other well-known writers and practitioners will be speaking and signing their works.  There will also be music, art, and poetry.  Indianapolis has never hosted an event of this kind.  Please help make it a success.

Winter storm Ion

The Weather Channel named the polar vortex storm "Winter Storm Ion."  That's an interesting thing to me.  I have been using the name Ion (that which moves) for an entity that personifies the primal vortex that first stirred the void for many years.  Sometimes the universe is a funny place.

I've been getting great reviews on a number of sites, and I just noticed that someone else has put out a new book with a similar title, so maybe a few new eyes will come my way.

Pride is not a sin. There is no such thing as sin.
You are good, and whole, and deserving in and of yourself.
Trust your skill, trust your intellect, and trust your judgement.
Refute any point of view that tells you that only through the grace of a god can you be fulfilled.
Make your own luck, and bring your Will to bear in order to craft the universe to your advantage. Don't be a rube.  Own your destiny.

Indifferent Agnostic Emanation

It has been a mistaken assumption by some that I am an atheist.  This is not the case, so I intend to clarify my position.

I am not an atheist.  If one desires to attach a label to my belief structure, I would offer that I am an Indifferent agnostic.

To better frame this explanation, let me establish a definition.  I regard an atheist as a person who actively and with forethought disbelieves in the existence of any quantity or configuration of supreme being(s) that are most often credited with the creation of physical reality, the universe, humankind, etc.  Whereas I acknowledge that there is no evidence whatsoever that one or more such entities exist, I do not, and cannot know either way within the confines of the senses and intellect that I possess.  The universe is a very strange place, and although the existence of it does not require a prime mover, I’m not egotistical enough to think that the limits of possibility are confined to that which I or anyone else can empirically prove.

Whether or not a supreme being exists has no bearing on how I conduct myself in this world. I do not fear a reckoning of my actions in this life, nor do I anticipate a reward for toeing the line and adhering to any arbitrary set of restrictions. I also utterly repudiate the premise that ethics or morals or decency are somehow bestowed from the godhead.  The arrogance of the faithful to make that assertion is staggering, especially considering the blood-drenched lineage of so many religions that is ignored by many modern adherents.   If something is out there beyond mind and space, and it did cause the universe to come into being, then I propose that it is a primal force utterly beyond our physicality.  It doesn’t look like George Burns, Morgan Freeman, or Alanis Morissette. It doesn't care what books I read or who I have sex with or how I spent my Sunday. That feeling is mutual.
